Program Overview:
PaaMoja Initiative’s Consultancy service offers organisations, NGOs, government agencies, and international donors access to authentic, evidence-based community development expertise rooted in over a decade of grassroots work in Mathare Valley — one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements.
Unlike consultancy firms that work from the outside looking in, PaaMoja brings the perspective of a team that lives, works, and leads within the community it serves. This inside knowledge is our greatest asset and your greatest advantage.
Program Approach:
Our consultancy services are built around four core offerings.
Program Design and Review — we help organisations design community interventions that are culturally sensitive, gender-inclusive, and grounded in real community needs rather than assumptions.
Training and Capacity Building — we train staff, facilitators, and community workers in areas including youth empowerment, SGBV prevention, SRHR education, financial literacy, and participatory community engagement.
Situational Analysis and Research — we conduct community needs assessments, gender gap analyses, and situational reports that give organisations an accurate picture of the communities they serve.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning — we support organisations to design M&E frameworks, track program outcomes, and translate data into actionable insights for continuous improvement.
