PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Sekete — from the local Sheng word for sex — courageously addresses the lack of access to accurate, age-appropriate SRHR information in Mathare. In an environment where social taboos and overcrowding drive uninformed decision-making, young people face high risks of unintended pregnancies, early marriages, and STIs.
The program uses storytelling, dialogue, and role-plays to deliver learning modules on sexual identity, healthy relationships, consent, contraception, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Community sessions for educators, teachers, and parents build wider support networks.
